Easy Salsa
Easy Slasa
I love chips and salsa, this is a quick and easy homemade salsa that allows you to control the heat. It does contain cilantro, which I happen to like, I know it can be a controversal ingredient.
Ingredients
-
One10-ounce cans of diced green chilies
-
One 14.5-ounce can whole tomatoes with juice
-
1/4 -1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves (more, less or none)
-
1/4 cup chopped onion
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 whole jalapeno, quartered (remove seeds and membrane if you don’t like it spicy)
-
1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
-
1/8 teaspoon salt
-
1/8 teaspoon sugar
-
1/2 whole lime, juiced
Instructions
- Combine the green chilies, whole tomatoes, cilantro, onions, garlic, jalapeno, cumin, salt, sugar and lime juice in a blender or food processor.(if using a food processor you may need to do in batches and then combine in a larger bowl).
- Pulse 10-15 times until you get the salsa to the consistency you’d like.
- Do a taste test with a chip and adjust as needed. Keep in mind it can get more spicy as it sits.
- Refrigerate the salsa for at least an hour before serving.
